NOTE;LANGUAGE=en;CHARSET=utf-8:David Clark is currently a Visiting Scientist at the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Geophysical Data Center in Boulder\, Colorado\, U.S.A. He retired in 2009 from U.S. Government service after more than 36 years. During that time\, he was at NGDC for 30 years and served in various capacities including Assistant Director\, staff geophysicist and computer programmer. Before coming to NGDC\, he was employed as a marine geophysicist with the U. S. Naval Oceanographic Office. In 2011\, Mr. Clark was appointed as the Permanent Secretary of Joint IOC-IHO Guiding Committee for the General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans. He is also a member of the International Council for Science's World Data System Scientific Committee. He previously served as Secretary for the ICSU World Data Center Panel. He received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland and attended graduate school at the University of Colorado where he studied geophysics and climatology. He is a member of the American Geophysical Union.
