Travelling to Brest
Brest lies near the western end of the Brittany peninsula. There are frequent flights from both Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly airports to Aéroport Brest Bretagne, which lies a few kilometres north-east of Brest.
A shuttle bus service links Brest city centre and Brest Bretagne airport several times a day. It takes about 14 minutes to central Brest and stops at the Tourist Office (400 m from Hotel L’Amiraute, 300 m from Hotel Océania) and at the railway station. Tickets can be purchased on the bus and cost €8.40 for a return ticket. Taxis are also available (around €15-20 for one way).
High-speed TGV (train à grande vitesse) trains run from central Paris (Montparnasse station) almost hourly and the fastest train takes just over four hours. In Brest the TGV station is close to the centre. Pre-booking is essential.
