Crowdsourcing on World Oceans Day

News — June 2018

The Nippon Foundation-GEBCO Seabed 2030 Project is aiming to map the global ocean floor by 2030. To do this we need a lot of data!

To help with this task we are encouraging the global community to join in. Through crowdsourcing initiatives, i.e. working with people who are already collecting data we hope to be able to work towards 'mapping the gaps'.

Watch this short video by the Nippon Foundation-GEBCO Seabed 2030 Project Director, Satinder Bindra, as he explains the importance of crowdsourced data to better understand the shape of the seafloor and how to get involved.
